Youths in Nkhata-Bay drilled in digital business

At least 92 youths from Nkhata Bay District have acquired digital business skills, courtesy of Mzuzu Entrepreneur Hub (Mzuzu E-Hub) through the Going beyond: Partnering for youth-led future project.

Speaking on Friday during their graduation in Nkhata Bay, Mzuzu E-Hub Nkhata Bay digital bus ines s facilitator Medrine Munthali said through the training they want to see the youth improve in their businesses.

“We believe that digital skills and business go together; hence, training them to help thei r businesses,” she said.

One of the trainees, Madalitso Mwale, said the training will help take her business to higher levels.

“I was doing business without knowing whether I was posting profits or operating at a loss because of lack of knowledge. This training has enlightened me very much,” she said.

Mwale thanked the organisation for building their capacity in business, saying it will help the youth in the district become economically independent.

The training covered topics such as digital and financial literacy and business management.

The project targets youths aged between 19 and 35, who run small-scale businesses.

The project , implemented in partnership with Digital Opportunity Trust and Mayoka Hub, seeks to improve the quality of life, resilience, agency and voice among youths.

E – Hub is also implementing the project in Lilongwe, Rumphi and Nkhata Bay districts as well as Mzuzu City.
